The annual Hummel Park Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by Guilford Township and the Town of Plainfield, will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, at Hummel Park, located at 1500 S. Center St., Plainfield, with food vendors, face painting,  free bounce houses, free balloon twisting, live music and more.

This annual celebration of our nation’s freedom will feature the West Winds Big Band at the Hummel Park Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m., followed with one of the best fireworks displays in Indiana, starting at 9:55 p.m.

We recommend arriving at the park early in order to avoid parking and traffic issues. The east entrance of the park at 1500 S. Center St., will be shut down promptly at 7:00 p.m. The west entrance to Hummel Park, located at 5373 S. County Road 700 East (Sugar Grove Road), will close promptly at 9:00 p.m. In addition, the Plainfield Police Department will close County Road 700 East (Sugar Grove Road) at 9:30 p.m., between Vestal Road and Hadley Road to all traffic.

We encourage everyone to bring their lawn chairs and picnics. There will be 15 food vendors serving a wide variety of foods, including entrée and side items, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, ice cream, kettle corn, lemon shake ups, bubble tea, and much more. Please remember that fireworks and alcohol are not allowed in Hummel Park. Do not bring grills, canopy tents or other items which are prohibited.
