In its effort to support safety and wellness in the community, Guilford Township has once again purchased two TREK bicycles for patrol use by the Plainfield Police Department bike program. The purchase helps ensure the continuation of this very important program in our community, giving officers an additional resource to reach some less-accessible areas more efficiently, and in a more timely manner.
The program also helps ensure and increase the police patrols on the trail system, both at Guilford Township’s Hummel Park and at the Town of Plainfield parks. Guilford Township Trustee Chuck Ellis presented Gear Up Cyclery in Plainfield with a check to purchase the two outfitted police bikes Wednesday, July 27. Also in attendance were Plainfield Police Department (PPD) School Resource Officer Josh Jellison, PPD Officer Cody Endicott, and Gear Up Cyclery owner Daniel Gibbs.
