The Hendricks County Recycling District will host Tox-Away Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Hummel Park, 5373 S. County Road 700 East (Sugar Grove Road). Tox-Away Days are collection events where Hendricks County households can properly dispose of chemicals, fluids, bulbs, batteries, tanks, medicines, medical sharps, tires, electronics, appliances, and more. A more complete list of the items and materials accepted is below.
This Tox-Away Day will be held in the parking lot on the west side of Hummel Park in the parking lot near the Performing Arts Center. Participants will enter from Sugar Grove Road.
Hendricks County households are encouraged to properly dispose of chemicals, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, medicines, medical sharps, tires, electronics, appliances, and more at Tox-Away Day. Please review these reminders:
- Any Hendricks County household can use any Tox-Away Day event (we can’t accept waste from businesses, non-profits, churches, etc.)
 - We don’t offer document shredding or heavy trash disposal
 - Cash and checks are the only payment methods accepted
 - Stay in your vehicle (we’ll unload everything for you)
 - Don’t bring latex paint (dry it up and throw it out instead)
