Guilford Township’s Hummel Park has become the center of attention for the annual Independence Day celebration in Guilford Township, Plainfield, and the surrounding communities. For nearly three decades, thousands make their way to one of central Indiana’s most beautiful township parks for live music, food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artistry, and, of course, fireworks – all in celebration of our Nation’s independence. The event is the highlight of the summer activities at Hummel Park. It is the greatest local gathering our community experiences each year. Guilford Township proudly provides free of charge most of the activities, including the performance by groups, such as the Indiana Wind Symphony, the Hendricks Symphonic Society, West Winds Big Band, or others at the Performing Arts Center, bounce houses, and games for the kids, both young and old, and more. The fireworks display is one of the best Indiana has to offer, combining resources from both Guilford Township and the Town of Plainfield, which allows for a spectacular aerial display, seen from many places throughout the community. Held every July Fourth from 5-10:30 p.m., make sure you put this Hummel Park event at the top of your To-Do list.
