Fraud is on the rise, and seniors tend to be the most common victims. A new alliance between local authorities and senior citizen groups known as the TRIAD Program is offering two upcoming free meetings for those 50-plus. The meetings are designed to help seniors avoid fraud, be aware of community concerns, and to provide other needs to help them live safe and happy lives.

The first meeting will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the Guilford Township Community Center, 1500 S. Center St., Plainfield. This meeting will provide information on personal safety, including best practices and considerations for individuals.

The second meeting will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the same location, featuring presentations on fraud and scam awareness. There is no obligation to be a part of these meetings. No reservation needed.
