Duke Energy and Guilford Township’s Hummel Park will present the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall exhibit at Hummel Park. This event will begin at 6:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, through 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21.
This solemn exhibit brings attention to the many thousands of veterans who served in the Vietnam War, and highlights the names of the 58,318 Americans killed in the war.
The display is a 3/5s-sized exact replica of the memorial wall in Washington, D.C. It will be on display on the west side of Hummel Park, and guests are asked to enter the park at 5373 S. County Road 700 East (Sugar Grove Road), or park at the 1500 S. Center St. location and walk to the exhibit after crossing the pedestrian bridge to the west side of the park.
For those parking on the west side of the park, there will be shuttles to transport those in need to the wall exhibit. In addition, Guilford Township will be presenting a war memorabilia exhibit near the Charleston Pavilion during the wall’s visit to Hummel Park.
It is requested that all visitors to this event please be respectful of the exhibit. No eating, drinking, smoking or pets will be allowed at the exhibit itself. Guests should maintain a quiet and respectful attitude as they visit the memorial. There will be staff and volunteers to help guests locate names of loved ones on the wall and to help in other ways.
No vehicles, bicycles or pedestrians will be allowed to use the area around the memorial, except for those visiting the exhibit, in order to maintain the respect and solemness of the exhibit.
